The Tower
Kananaskis, Alberta
September 27, 2001
Distance: 13.4 km (8.3 mi)
Cumulative Elevation Gain: 1341 m (4400 ft)

I remember little of our climb up The Tower. I was kept busy guiding a small group, some of whom were inexperienced. I was also distracted from taking photos, hence not many pictures.

We hiked up Rummel Lake trail to the lake before headed to the alpine valley below The Tower. After passing a small tarn, we went to the south slope. At the base of the mountain we scrambled up an obvious gully that assisted our ascent at the beginning. The Tower is a moderate scramble and routefinding isn't difficult, yet I spent time with some in my group who were having difficulties. Unfortunately, two people became uncomfortable and never made the summit.
