Warspite North Tarn
Kananaskis, Alberta
February 7, 2004

Distance: 5.6 km (3.5 mi)
Cumulative Elevation Gain: 500 m (1575 ft)

The tarn below the north ridge of Mount Warspite is a simple snowshoe trip that takes advantage of the trail to Warspite Lake. Starting from Black Prince day-use area, Anita, Mike, Dinah and I started up the trail before leaving it to head south to the tarn.

After reaching the tarn, however, we decided to ascend the ridge on the west. Cliffs stopped us from getting very far, but we climbed above the tree line to get some views. After turning around, we descending to the tarn before heading back, taking a more direct route to the parking lot.
