Quartz Ridge
Banff National Park, Alberta
May 1, 1999
This is the most expensive snowshoe trip I've done. Our group, the Hostel Outdoor Group, bought chair lift tickets to take us up to Sunshine Meadows. After getting a lift, we snowshoed up Quartz Ridge.
After leaving the chair lift, we set off for Quartz Ridge on the right
We gained little elevation at first

This ptarmigan appears undisturbed by our presence, or too cold to move!
