Elephant Rocks
Kananaskis, Alberta
December 5, 2003

Distance: 10.3 km (6.4 mi)
Cumulative Elevation Gain: 350 m (1148 ft)

Elephant Rocks are a pile of boulders near Chester Lake in Kananaskis. Following the trail we used to reach Mount Galatea in the summer, we snowshoed to the Rocks. After exploring them, we pushed on to the edge of the valley north of Chester Lake, but a snow squall moved in, defeating both the view and our enthusiasm. We turned around. Of course, by the time we reached the parking lot, the sun had come out!
