"Crystal Ridge" (explore)
Icefields Parkway, Alberta
March 31, 2001

Before I started doing my own snowshoe trips, I ventured out with the Hostel Outdoors Group. This trip was noteworthy because of the enormous crystals we found, which led us to dub the ridge, "Crystal Ridge." Crystal Ridge is actually the south ridge of Cirque Peak.

We reached an open area soon after starting out.

We came across these crystals. Mouse over for a close up.

Plenty of interesting rocks to explore

Taking a break

Dinah struggles in the deep snow. Bow Lake is in the background.

Interesting rocks

I climb a rock stack.
