Cirque Peak (treeline)
Icefields Parkway, Banff, Alberta
December 30, 2000
Distance: 6.0 km (3.7 mi)
Cumulative Elevation Gain: 552 m (1811 ft)
Dinah and I joined the Hostel Outdoor Group to snowshoe up the lower slope of Cirque Peak. Led by Rick, we ventured above the treeline to take in stunning winter views of Bow Lake and surrounding mountains. After a high traverse, we descended to the highway where we had left a second car a kilometre from our start.
