Little Mountain
Salmon Arm, B.C.
April 27, 2025
Distance: 3.0 km (1.9 mi)
Cumulative Elevation Gain: 88 m (289 ft)
On our way to Kamloops from Calgary, we stopped in Salmon Arm to stretch our legs on Little Mountain. We followed broad trails through a tranquil cedar forest, navigating several junctions to reach a modest summit overlooking the city. The summit was marred by a communications tower, but the view to the west was open to reveal Shuswap Lake. Near the summit, there's an unusual sculpture by the Secwépemc people, one of several landmarks in the area. After a brief stay on top, we continued down the north ridge of Little Mountain, completing a little but pleasant loop.
